I’m knee deep into studying the book of John and when I read the following verse…
But Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.” John 5:17
…isn’t it amazing that even when we are unable to see it, God is always working in our lives. When you stop and think about that, it’s an incredibly comfortable feeling. I don’t know about you but lately I feel very much like things are out of my control. I am so thankful that I don’t have to worry because I know that God has got this under control.
Even when this world lets us down over and over or the people in our lives let us down over and over or we let ourselves down over and over, God is in control. How amazing is that?
Sometimes, we are privileged to be able to see His work taking place. Like when we see the birth of a child. Or the beauty of nature. However, it’s also in the subtle things that take place that often go unnoticed and unacknowledged. When we arrive safely home from work each day. When we have eaten and have full a fully belly. When we crawl into our warm bed. When we breathe every single breath of air in our lungs and have life.
This is God at work and in control.
Here’s a beautiful thought for you…even when we don’t deserve it, God is always working in our lives. And guess what? We don’t ever deserve it. You might be thinking…”How dare she say that? I’m a good person..” But there is nothing that you and I have done or could ever do to be deserving of the mercy God shows us. And yet, He is always working.
What a blessing it is to be a child of God and to know His amazing grace.
When you’re feeling overwhelmed, instead of looking inward, I challenge you to look outward and simply say “Thank you God because I know you’re in control of this , no matter what!”
Then breathe and simply know the He is always working.
